Frequently Asked Questions
What is TouchCopy and what can it do?
TouchCopy is a powerful device management software for Windows and Mac that lets you copy content from your iPhone, iPad or iPod to your computer. It can transfer photos, messages, music, playlists, contacts and more from your mobile devices to your computer.
For a full list of features and how to use them, see TouchCopy's user guide.
What can I do with the free trial?
When you first download TouchCopy, it starts in trial mode so you can test the software with your devices free.
This allows you to explore all of your iPhone, iPad and iPod content in TouchCopy, and even try copying some files. With the trial, you can copy up to the first 6 messages in your conversations, up to 100 photos and songs, and a few items from other sections like contacts, call logs, notes and calendars. See the full list of trial limitations.
How do I unlock the full version of TouchCopy from trial mode?
To unlock the full version, you can purchase a TouchCopy license from the Wide Angle Software website or the Microsoft Store.
- You'll receive an activation code if you purchase via the website. Activate TouchCopy with the code to unlock the full version.
- Or, if you installed and purchased TouchCopy from the Microsoft Store, the full version will automatically unlock for you.
Who is TouchCopy for?
TouchCopy is designed for anyone who wants easy access to the data on their iPhone, iPad or iPod.
- Casual individuals - Users who want to back up or copy personal content such as messages, photos, music, contacts, call logs and notes to their computer.
- Businesses and professionals - Organizations and teams who need to manage, extract, or archive iOS data for compliance, evidence, or internal records. Enterprise licensing options are available for business use.
Will TouchCopy work with my device and operating system?
- You can install TouchCopy on Windows 10 and 11, and Macs running Catalina (macOS 10.15) and higher.
- All iPhones, iPads and iPods are supported.
- Compatible with all versions of iOS and iPadOS.
See the Tech Spec for more details.
If you use an Android phone, you can use Droid Transfer instead.
Is my data secure when using TouchCopy?
Yes. TouchCopy does not upload your data anywhere. All backups and copied content are stored locally on your computer. No information is transmitted to Wide Angle Software or any third parties.
TouchCopy contains no viruses, spyware or adware and has been certified as safe by multiple security providers. It is digitally signed using a Microsoft Azure Extended Validation (EV) Code Signing Certificate, and the Mac version is notarized by Apple and code-signed with an official Apple Developer certificate, ensuring the highest standards of security, authenticity, and integrity.
