Tune Sweeper crashes or freezes when Grouping.

If you have many duplicates in your iTunes library the 'Grouping' process may take some time to complete. While this is under way - the spinning wheel animation will indicate that Tune Sweeper is working.

If the spinning wheel stops for a long period of time or Tune Sweeper crashes completely, Tune Sweeper may have run out of memory. You can help Tune Sweeper by performing the following actions:-


Close all other applications before running Tune Sweeper

Try and limit the number of duplicates Tune Sweeper has to display at any one time by initially specifying a more strict duplicate search criteria. That is, select all possible meta data elements to the search, ( e.g. Artist, Album, Track #, Track Count and Time ). This will make Tune Sweeper only find the exact matches of duplicates which may be a smaller list. Remove those duplicates and then repeat the search with a less strict search criteria.
