Using Quivic with an iPod

This page summarizes the steps required to produce video specifically for playback on an Apple iPod or just within iTunes.

iTunes Preferences

Quivic will download video from the web and convert it into a format suitable for playback on an iPod. Quivic will then copy that video into Apple iTunes. In order for iTunes to be able to accept your new video, you need to set the correct setting in iTunes preferences.

- Open iTunes preferences (in the Edit menu)
- Select the Advanced tab.
- Make sure the box next to "Copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to library" is checked.
- Click OK.

Setting Quivic Options for iPod.

Click the Options button in the toolbar.
Select the Video Format tab ( selected by default ). Select "iPod Format" and click OK.

Alternatively, you can select "iPod" from the Format drop down box in the Quick Settings toolbar.

You can also specify the size of the video you would like Quivic to produce for your iPod. The two options you have are...

320x240

640x480

The 320 x 240 size is the default and will play on any iPod capable of playing video. The 640x480 video will play on iPod Nano with video, iPod classic and iPod Touch.

Location

When you select iPod format - Quivic will automatically select "iTunes" as the save Location. If you prefer, you can change this to "PC" and then save the resulting video to any location on your hard drive.

Obtaining Video

Download and convert any video you like as described in the rest of this manual.
