Handling Video using PSP Feeder |

Browsing and Playing Video
You can browse the videos on your PSP by clicking the "Videos On Your PSP" tab. This displays thumbnails of all the videos currently on your PSP.
Double clicking any of these thumbnails opens a video window allowing you to watch that video on your PC.
As the video plays, the play progress bar is shown. Click and drag the progress handle to change the currently playing position of the video.

Adding Video to your PSP
You can add video to your PSP in many ways.
|
You can add video to your PSP by clicking the add video button. |
You can also add video by drag and dropping the video files onto the PSP Feeder video window from any Windows Explorer window.
When you add a video to your PSP, PSP Feeder will convert the video into a format that your PSP can play. This is called "Transcoding". It can take a little while - depending on the size of your source video. The file size of the resultant video on your PSP will be a fraction of the size of the original video on your PC. As the transcode process takes place, the size of the video for your PSP is displayed.
You can stop the Transcoding process at any time by clicking "Cancel".
There are certain video formats that PSP Feeder can work with. Below are a list of file types that PSP Feeder is able to transcode...
MPV, MP4, MPEG 1/2/3, MPG, DIVX, AVI, DV, MOV
Changing the video settings.
|
Open a settings window that allows you to specify the format and size of the video on your PSP. |
 |
PSP Feeder can save your video in standard size ( almost a square aspect ratio ) or in Wide Screen format ( like the cinema format ). You should set this option depending on preference and the aspect ratio of the source video being copied.
You may also specify the format of the video saved to your PSP. H.264 produces smaller, higher quality video files but only works with PSPs with version 2 software installed. MPEG4 works with all PSPs but generally produces slightly larger files.
If you are having difficulty copying a particular video over to your PSP, try changing the Video Output Format. |
|
 |
The larger the file produced on your PSP, the higher the picture quality of the video. So, the smaller the file - the poorer the image quality. Of course, using smaller files means you can get more video on your PSP.
You can set your preference of Quality versus file Size in the PSP Feeder video settings window. Open the setting window and click the "Quality vs. Size" tab.
Now move the slider to the left to produce lower quality, smaller video or to the right to produce higher quality, larger videos.
|
Queue Up More Videos to Add to your PSP.
While PSP Feeder is transcoding video, you can add further videos. PSP Feeder will place these videos in a queue and then process them one at a time.
Deleting Videos from your PSP.
|
You can delete a selection of videos from your PSP by clicking the delete button. |
Importing Video From iTunes onto your PSP
If you have iTunes installed on your PC, you can use PSP Feeder to fetch videos from iTunes and put them onto your PSP.
Click the "Import Videos From iTunes" tab.

PSP Feeder will list all the videos currently in your iTunes collection. This list will include video podcasts. Select a video from the list and click "Copy Selected To PSP". You will then be taken back to the videos tab to see the transcode process in progress.
While the video is being transcoded you can go click the "Import Videos From iTunes" tab to add further videos from iTunes to your PSP.
Note that your PSP will not be able to play video purchased through the iTunes music store. Such files are identified in PSP Feeder with this icon - .
